AARP, American Medical Association Oppose Senate Healthcare Bill

The Congressional Budget Office says the Senate healthcare bill would leave about 22-million Americans without health insurance by 2026.  That has the American Medical Association joining more than a dozen medical groups in opposing the bill.  AARP also weighed in against the bill on Monday.

The nation's biggest senior activist group is particularly upset about the part of the bill that would allow insurers to charge older adults up to five times as much as younger people for coverage. Senate Republican leaders hope to get a final vote on their healthcare bill by the end of the week.
